Conceptual Art emerged in the 1960s as artists challenged traditional definitions of art. The movement prioritized ideas, instructions, and processes over physical objects. Text, documentation, and ephemeral actions often replaced conventional media. It questioned authorship, value, and the role of institutions in defining art.
